1. Welcome

The year is coming to the end. I would like to thank you for your interest in StateWORKS. I would not like to confront you today with a difficult topic - the coming days around Christmas and New Year is rather a period of reflection and just relaxation. But I would like to make you a present. Therefore I spend few minutes to model the "Dining Philosophers" problem. The design is of course peanuts using StateWORKS but I have though it may amuse you a bit and fits well into this period.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for all of you

2. The "Dining Philosopher" problem

You probably know the text book problem: "There are five philosophers sitting at a round table who do nothing but think and eat. Between each philosopher there is a single fork. In order to eat, a philosopher must have both forks".

You find the accompanying description ready for download on our web site.

3. StateWORKS Monitor

We added the "advise" feature for the Xda object in the Monitor. Hence, if you want to watch in Monitor also the forks which are represented by Xda objects in the Dining Philosopher example, please, download the newest version of StateWORKS Studio LE. Use the old license file for installation: you don't need a new one.
