1. Welcome

Recently we have ported the StateWORKS execution environment onto Windows CE platforms. That operating system is often used in embedded control applications.

In addition, to supply you something to read during rainy summer days (at least in some parts of Europe), we have written a technical note "StateWORKS - specifying control problems instead of coding". It would be interesting to receive feedback about your experiences with CASE tools; at least we encourage you to send us an email with a multi-value vote: 1 (fully agree) through 5 (strongly disagree).

Regards
F. Wagner

2. Applying StateWORKS to embedded systems using Microsoft Windows CE

StateWORKS Studio is a tool to specify and test systems of state machines. The result may be used either to study of a control problem or may form the heart of a control application.

Applications using StateWORKS specification are built around a StateWORKS run-time data base (RTDB). The RTDB library used to build StateWORKS run-time system must be available in different flavours to suit the operating systems. We expanded the range of RTDB variants with libraries for Windows CE.

3. The technical note "StateWORKS - specifying control software instead of coding"

The technical note discusses the controversy "specifying instead of coding". There seems to be a large gap between official marketing / publishing stories about CASE tools and real life. If you find our views too controversial do not hesitate to e-mail us (sw.info@stateworks.com) and present your own opinion.
